Rafael Raposo Pires, b. 1994, Portuguese.
Currently pursuing his Master in Multimedia Art at Faculdade de Belas-Artes de Lisboa.
His body of work consists mostly on photographs produced while practicing dérives made on diverse urban areas. Rafael started his projects supported by the interest on how transformative architecture can be, observing improvised elements that further made him aware of the distancing between planning and how different people use a constructed space.
This later evolved into his appreciation for the movement of a body on a certain space, creating video-performances. Nowadays his artworks aim to question what does people consider as limits to an urban space, through photography, video and other materials.
