"Along with the direction of the film "Não Sei", I have develop a photography work to portrait the present, with the purpose to connect directly with the presence of the disease of the main character. Along the process, Maria Ruth is portrayed, in her home, as a grandmother that recognizes the person behind the camera, but also as a woman who doesn’t know who she is or where is her home, after 5 minutes later."
Donation: 7% of this artwork will go to Associação Portuguesa de Alzheimer. ALZHEIMER PORTUGAL is a Private Institution of Social Solidarity founded, in 1988, by Professor Carlos Garcia. It is the only organisation in Portugal, of national scope, specifically set up to promote the quality of life of people with dementia and their families and carers.
About the artist: Maria Teresa Oliveira (b. 1999) currently finishing her Bachelor's degree in Multimedia Art, at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon. Over the past few years, her works have explored the relationship between image and media and the creation of a personal identity as a member of a society. With these interests in 2021 she entered the Master of Fine Arts in Photography at the University of Gothenburg in Sweden.
