Eva focuses on investigating an “image archeology”, which is allied with phenomenological processes, making use of the magic lantern, photomontages or google earth images to understand the human eye, or a prosthesis of the latter, to understand and apply repetition, formation and destruction of image in your plastic and visual work.
Other themes that are associated with other works and that the artist implements her artistic projects are concepts such as memory, drive for life and death (psychoanalytic theory by Melanie Klein), anthropocene and biographical photographic archive.
Despite being trained in painting, the artist works in various disciplines, interconnecting and merging analog photography, cameraless photographic processes, printmaking, video, installation and digital media, associating these techniques with the theoretical and practical needs of the works.
Eva Resende did her degree at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Porto (Portugal), finishing it under a Erasmus+ mobility program in Bologna (Italy).
