Maarit Pöör is Estonia-based artist who lives and works in the island of Saaremaa. She has a Masters degree from Aalto University, Helsinki in fashion, and she has worked as a designer and teacher for a decade.
Living in the nature reserve has deeply influenced her creative expression and art, as well as raised her interest in local wild herbs. The past five years she has been in charge of awarded craft distillery Lahhentagge, where she works as a Master Distiller. She is the first female Master Distiller in the Baltic countries. She is also in the midst of her second Master’s degree in distilling at Heriot-Watt University in Scotland.
Maarit’s passion towards art and nature has made her explore the connections between human senses and creating powerful expressions through the paintings, aromas and tastes.
